Barents-Baltic Program NATURE AND PEOPLE

The Program is aimed to the promotion of the new sustainable development goals, defined in 2015: conservation and sustainable use of oceans, sees and other nature water resources; rational use of forests and biodiversity conservation.

Program developers are: WWF-Sweden, WWF-Russia, and Coalition Clean Baltic in the partnership with non-governmental, commercial and other expert organizations in the project areas.

The program objective is promotion of sustainable development in North-West Russia with biodiversity conservation, ecosystems sustainability and management, allowing local communities and civil society get access to information and participate in the process..

Main program beneficiary are civil society organizations, local residents and local communities,who’s tbasis of existence is nature resources.

Ecocentrum contribution to the Program is promotion and expert support of integrated ecosystem based river basin management with participation of civil society and local communities.
